FAULT Magazine Features Fashion designer: Sam Frenzel
The next four days will see Germany take centre stage in the international fashion calendar. The capital’s notorious public square Bebelplatz will host collections by labels such as Boss Black and Joop! The current winner of the “Designer For Tomorrow” award, the most anticipated show of the event has to be Sam Frenzel who shows his debut collection this afternoon. The award created by German outfit Peek & Cloppenburg, was produced to aid an emerging fashion designer with a sponsorship program and prize money to establish themselves in the international fashion sector. Fending off over 150 other competitors, last year’s winner Frenzel secured his title with an impressive womenswear range entitled “nuit blanche” (white night). The five piece collection consisted of sheer blouses, short skirts and leather thigh high boots, all topped off with oversized accessories. Winning over much of the fashion media, Frenzel set an impressively high standard amongst his counterparts. In a country where Wolfgang Joop himself stated “the fashion still needs some work”, the finalists proved to be the highlight of the week. Already a hit with the New York Times, it seems it’s only a matter of time before Frenzel takes the fashion world by storm. “Wunderbar!!
