Lucy Bridge

Posted in Uncategorized by faultmagazine on March 2, 2010

With heavy structured brows, glittering eyeshadow and contoured cheeks Lucy Bridge screams make up artist. She’s been photographed by Tim Walker (above) and appeared on the cover of I.D magazine. As a regular face at the club nights in the East End of London she’s a walking advertisement for her impeccable skills. With an internship with Alex Box of Illamasqua behind her and a wealth of glamour editorials we speak to Lucy about her work.

FAULT: Did you study make up or are you self taught?

I studied Make Up at Manchester City College for 2 Years. It was a HDN in Design Media Make Up and Photography. I also studied Wig Making and Hairdressing. I do feel that as a make up artist however most things are self taught. You have to practice on yourself and others in order to really perfect your skills. In a way I do think I am self taught but was just pointed in the right direction at College.

FAULT: Does living in London inspire you?

Living in London has really opened my eyes to the fashion industry since I moved here. Exhibitions, Going to Clubs, Fashion Shows, Bus Journey’s and day to day life inspire me. I feel that anywhere in the world can inspire you enough if you just look closely at your surroundings

FAULT: What do you see as the essential S/S 2010 make up?

Mac Lip Stain Felt Tip Pens are a make up must this Spring/Summer. A Lip Stain in a felt tip like applicator is perfect for getting a stained lip colour which is quickly and effortlessly applied.

FAULT: What are you currently working on?

I’m currently working on building up my portfolio and website by doing test shoots and editorials. I also work at MAC 4 days a week and in the next year or so I’d like to work my way onto the events team. I’ve also got a few exciting projects lined up but its all a bit hush hush at the moment.

FAULT: How long does it take you to do your own make up?

For a Natural look 10-15 minutes and anything more dramatic 45mins to an hour
